PHASE 1 STEP 5 - DECISION MAKING: SELECT THE BEST SOLUTION THROUGH INTERVIEW WITH EXPERTS
TASK 1
Knowledge and understanding of leadership
From my point of view, leadership brings challenges to cope with the changes and problems that happen during the work in order to achieve the goals. When negotiating and making decisions, it is critical to be aware of what you feel the situation is, why you believe the situation is being formed, and how you solved the situation. It's as simple as expressing your assumptions with others, especially team members, to avoid making assumptions. As the group's leader, I learned how to lead my members and improved my leadership skills by participating in this CID Project. I had personally messaged the expert via WhatsApp to make an appointment after discussing with the members who we wanted to interview. Thankfully, the expert has consented to perform a WhatsApp text interview. Then, as we had all agreed, I split several responsibilities among my members, including conducting the interview session and recording and writing the report. I realize that it is my responsibility as a leader to motivate my team to complete their tasks and to assist them when they have trouble solving a problem.
TASK 2
Effective leadership
Effective leadership is generally always one of the most important and fundamental generators of development, growth, and innovation. It's not about the positions or even the awards when it comes to leadership. Leadership that is effective is far more significant, influential, and powerful. It's something you've worked hard for. There is no defined formula or step-by-step strategy; it is dependent on the organization's culture and demands. The interview went over without a mishap thanks to the members' and experts' excellent cooperation. Every team member is aware of their responsibilities and works carefully to fulfill them. We all share our ideas on what we learned from the interview session on our WhatsApp group once we end the interview session. Each of us came to a straightforward conclusion regarding the interview.
REPORT FROM THE INTERVIEW SESSION

1) Question: We have faced 4 different waves of COVID variants, in your opinion why is that so?
Answer: Each variant has its unique virulence and susceptibility in the population. Due to this, the population is at risk of a new outbreak which leads to these four different waves. Despite the origin of the variants being isolated in certain countries, international travels aided the spread of the virus globally.
2) Question: Are we doing enough as a society to combat COVID? If so, why?
Answer: Yes, we are. As a society, we have kept a strict adherence to the SOP and guidelines implemented by the government.

Question: As the phrase “Everything will go back to normal” will things ever go back to ‘normal’ or do we have to adapt to a new norm after COVID?
Answer: We must be prepared to face the COVID-19 pandemic for a long period of time. Modern technology requires a long time to research effective treatment (cure) and effective vaccines that could prevent the disease and not just the severity of the disease. For example, the influenza vaccine. Therefore, the new norm will have to be adapted until the breakthrough cure and vaccine are achieved. For example, there are certain countries that went back to the normal that we know and now we saw rapid increases in the number of cases in those countries.

Question: Why there are some people had been effected by the COVID-19 virus even they had completed 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines?
Answer: This will be a case of vaccine breakthrough infection. The COVID-19 vaccine. The effective in preventing infection, serious illness, and death. However, it’s not 100% effective. Thus, we should always be compliant with the SOP and guidelines. A fully vaccinated people with a vaccine breakthrough infection are less likely to develop a serious illness than those who are unvaccinated.

Question: Do we still have to wear a facemask even after the pandemic is over?
Answer: Studies have shown that using a facemask during the COVID-19 pandemic has not only reduced the covid transmission but also have decreased the number of cases of influenza, tuberculosis, and other disease transmitted via air droplet. When the pandemic is over, it will still be beneficial to wear a facemask even if it’s not compulsory.
Analysis from the interview:
We all agreed that people need to get COVID-19 vaccines because when someone receives an effective vaccine, their chances of contracting COVID-19 are reduced if they come into contact with the coronavirus. The vaccine's effectiveness in preventing major disease, hospitalization, and death is more significant. COVID-19 vaccinations are currently very effective in reducing major disease, hospitalization, and death. Because of widespread immunization, the coronavirus will infect fewer people. This will limit the virus's ability to transmit among populations while also limiting its ability to change into new variants. To avoid a bigger spread through communities, people must also obey the authorities' SOPs and standards.
